It is my pleasure to recall
and write about Mr.ShawnPlain.
Four descriptive words come to mind and best describe this gentleman:
learner, leader, volunteer and professional. From the moment Shawn entered the Professional Golf Management
program at GeorgianCollege it was
clear that his intention was to succeed at the highest academic levels
and he did this and more. A great deal of the work and expectation placed
on our students is based upon their abilities to perform tasks in groups.
Shawn’s natural talent as a leader served both him and his group
members well, regardless of the complexity of the task. When it came time
to step forward and volunteer to represent his fellow students and our
program at trade shows and industry conferences, Shawn was first in line
and to this day, continues to provide his professional brand of
organizational skills to Georgian’s scholarship fundraising golf
tournament each year. Finally, it is difficult to meet a more dedicated
professional in the golf industry than ShawnPlain. He has an
innate grasp and sense of the ‘people and relationships’
aspect of the golf business. Equally as impressive is Shawn’s understanding of the importance of balancing
his professional career and his personal life. ShawnPlain is very
much in it for the long haul and he is very well equipped for the
journey.

Last summer I had the
privilege of taking lessons from ShawnPlain. I found
that he was an excellent teacher with a teaching style that helped me
move forward in my game. He started with where I was and what was good
about my stroke. Each lesson he taught me something new that made another
difference and helped me cut the odd point off. I liked that. Most of
all, I liked his patience with me. He is good at teaching an "old
